Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade Film Review

Out of all five Indiana Jones movies there are genuinely only really two films which people think of as the best of the bunch. With the other three being the worst ones of the bunch with the film that i'm about to review for you all today being one of the better films in this franchise and one that really should have served as the franchises final film knowing just how bad the other two films in this franchise well and truly are and so then join me as I review the film that should have been the franchises final film with the film in question being called simply just "Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade" enjoy.

The plot of this film is Indiana Jones is tasked with finding someone who went missing whilst looking for the Holy Grail with that person being his own father. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films plot being just as good if not better then the plot of Raiders Of The Lost Ark as this films plot not only gives us a hugely entertaining chase to find the Holy Grail but at it's heart it's also a tail about a father and son reconnecting after any years apart with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Harrison Ford as Henry "Indiana" Jones, Jr. and River Phoenix as Young Henry "Indiana" Jones, Jr.. Also starring in this film is Sir Sean Connery as Henry Jones, Sr. , Denholm Elliott as Marcus Brody , Alison Doody as Dr. Elsa Schneider , John Rhys-Davies as Sallah , Michael Byrne as Ernst Vogel , Kevork Malikyan as Kazim , Robert Eddison as The Grail Knight , Richard Young as Garth and Julian Glover as Walter Donovan.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films cast members turning in some truly wonderful performances which is really nothing all that new as alot of this films cast are a bunch of really good actors and would there for turn in a good performance anyway with Harrison Ford once again nailing it as Indiana Jones as he just simply is Indiana Jones with nobody being able to replace him as he's just that good as the character with the acting in this film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all the film s cast have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performances will come out of them naturally.

This film does spent quite alot of time just giving us a backstory for Indiana Jones with us the audience finding out how he became the man that we all know and love today. The idea of exploring Indy's backstory explaining how he got all of the things that would go on to us alot in the future was a good idea as it gives us a chance to see what the character was like when he was a just a teenager and seeing how he got his fear of snakes was hugely entertaining as it is plausible that anyone would get a fear of snakes after falling into a box fall to the brim of them with this whole sequence also feeling needed in the grand scheme of things as well as it's during this portion of the film that we get to see just how bad the relationship is between Indy and his father with the sequence as a whole just being a fun filled sequence.

One of the many things that work in this film is the relationship between Indiana Jones and his father with there relationship being key to making the films plot work. As the two characters even tho there blood related just don't get on with each other and yet over the course of this film we see them repair there relationship learn to get along with each other with even Steven Spielberg himself saying that "the search of the Holy Grail is really the search for the father" with the two characters at first just not getting along with each other and taking little digs at each other which was done in a humorous and loving way but as the film goes on they start to love each other again with the climax of there story being the fact that when Indy's life is is danger in order to really help him his father stops calling him Junior and starts calling him Indiana.

The one real downside to there relationship being that we don't really get to see just how bad there relationship is in Indy's youth. With his father only appearing from behind and telling Indy to count to ten in Greek and that's really it and for something that's meant to be set up a big part of the movie there should have been just a little bit more time dedicated to showing us just how bad there relationship had become and showing why Indiana favored the dog over his father and yet the film doesn't give us any of that which does somewhat make sense as the film has alot of running time in order to fully set up there relationship but at the same time the pay off of having his father say Indiana at the end would mean so much more if we got to see them drift apart over the years and while the film still works with or without showing us there relationship deteriorate it is something that really would have helped the film out a little bit if we got to see what there relationship was like back in Indy's youth.

As with all of the previous Indiana Jones films this one has a scene which would be not in the film if the film was made today. With this film having a scene that would also scare little kids and just like the other films this film is rated PG with the scene in question being the death of Walter Donovan and it's a scene that wouldn't be included in the film if the film was made today or at least not to the extreme that it was in the film as people would be to scared to scare little kids without realizing that that's what the PG rating was for as it was for parents to give there kids guidance something which alot of the more modern PG films just don't do and yet today's filmmakers fail to take into account that kids like being scared and if it serves the films story to give the character a scary and fitting death then you owe it to the film to stick with that more memorable death and not go with something that doesn't serve either the story or the films characters.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this films grand total running time even was I do know that for a fact that this has / had an exact grand total, running time of roughly two hours and one minuet. With this film having more then plot there to cover that large amount of running time but at the same time tho it would have benefited the film if the film took just a little bit more time in order to fully develop some of it's villains as while the heroes like Indy and his father do indeed get a lot screen time which is understandable the films villains don't get that much screen time with them just straight up disappearing for large portions of the films running time which is something that does affect the film as a whole as it makes the films villains seem really forgettable this is despite one of them having the most iconic death scene in the franchises history and yet if they film did take the time to fully develop some of it's villains it would have made there demise all the more fulfilling but I will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this film having alot of really fun and exciting action scenes which is really nothing new for these first three Indiana Jones films as the first three films have all got some really good looking action scenes in them that more then hold up all of these years later because they were all done for real where the action in the last two Indiana Jones whilst still being good just don't hold up as well as alot of them were done in a computer and will really be dated in five years times where as the action in this film will be timeless and will always be timeless in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this is this the film that should have been the final film in the Indiana Jones franchise as it gives us the perfect ending to this truly iconic franchise but yet because they kept on going we now have to films that make the franchise look like a complete and utter total joke of a franchise in my freaking opinions anyways / at leas. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very review really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Indiana Jones fandom wiki page , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being the official Indiana Jones fandom wiki page this is because all of the images that I got for this review and that are still of course currently up and really are on the really great the official Indiana Jones fandom wiki page with them all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
