Dune: Part Two Film SPOILER FILLED Film Review

Two part films used to be a thing back in the early twenty ten's but there now oddly seeing some sort of a comeback. With both this film , Rebel Moon and Fast X using the idea of a two part film to tell one epic storyline where as before they were used to be a accurate to the books that they were adapting as possible with this film being a really good example of how a two part film could and should work and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the film that may or may not become a trilogy of films with the film in question being called simply just "Dune: Part Two" enjoy.

The plot of this film is Paul has to unite the Fremen people of the desert planet Arrakis to help in his fight against House Harkonnen. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time this films plot was also a huge step down in quality when compared to that of the first film as while the plot of the first film felt alot like Game Of Thrones when it was at it's best this one feels like Game Of Thrones as it's worst with there being alot of things that don't really make sense once you stop and think about it but at the same time the plot of this film was also really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides , Zendaya as Chani and Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica. Also starring in this film is Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck , Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen , Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan , Dave Bautista as Glossu Rabban Harkonnen , Christopher Walken as Shaddam IV , Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot Fenring , Souheila Yacoub as Shishakli , Stellan Skarsgård as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen , Charlotte Rampling as Gaius Helen Mohiam and Javier Bardem as Stilgar.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. Which given that this film is directed by Denis Villeneuve isn't really all that new and shocking as alot of his films have always had some really good acting in them with this really being helped by the fact that this films cast are a bunch of really good actors with each and every single one of them turning in some really performances in this film as they are just that good of a bunch of actors all of whom are working with a director who knows how to get a good performance out his cast with the acting in this film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all the films cast have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of all them really naturally.

Doing the CGI for this film is Clear Angle Studios , Double Negative and the legends and the greats that are currently over at Weta Workshop. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good which isn't really all that surprising as the film mixes CGI with practical sets which in this case makes the CGI look even better as there's something for the effect to interact with this is even less shocking when you look at who's providing the CGI for this film as alot of the effects companies that are working on this film from an effects point of view are legendary companies that always supply top some really notch CGI special effects.

SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you that are not aware this film basically covers the entire second half of the novel with the film even including Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides. This is a good way to do a two part film as this story could only have been told in two parts as it would mean that alot of the things that the fans loved about the novel could now be included in the film where as with say Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2 they still cut out alot of stuff from both films despite them now having the extended running time and yet with this film it felt like that they included everything that was in the novel even going so far as to actually show us the relationship between Paul and Chani which is something that the David Lynch film couldn't really do as alot of those scenes where cut out of the film by the studio releasing the film and given that there relationship is key to making the film work it's something does work in this film as we really get to see it fully develop.

The films main villain Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen just isn't that interesting of a character as he doesn't really have an end goal in mind. While he does have a reason for being evil as his entire family is pretty much he still needs an end goal as that is something that will help us the audience to really hate the character and yet this films take on the character doesn't have that with him just doing random evil things that all just so happen to involve Paul in someway shape or form and that isn't something that makes human interesting with this not really being helped by the fact that we don;t really get to spend alot of the time with him which is a shame as that's where we get some truly amazing make-up effects and yet he just comes across as a rather uninteresting character with Paul also being an uninteresting and as a result of this is the fact that us the audience have no one to fully form a connection with as both the main hero and the main villain just aren't that interesting characters.

With the extended running time that both of these films have they really should spent alot more time just going into the lore of this world. As that's where the film is the most interesting and the most visually stunning which is a nothing new for a Denis Villeneuve film as all of his films are always very visually stunning and heck even all of the films are really cast but all of that means nothing as the rules of this universe and this planet aren't fully explored or even like why is Paul knocking on the seen as a bad thing and what's the deal with the The Fremen and while yes we are getting a Dune TV show by the end of the year these are things that really should have been explained in this film and yet it wasn't the film instead spending alot of time on scenes that don't really matter in the grand scheme of things instead of fully developing it's lore and making this truly beautiful world feel all the more real then what it actually is.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours ad thirty five minuets and forty six seconds. Which is a huge running time for any film and to this films credit it does have more then enough plot there to really cover that large amount of running but at the same time this film felt like it was bit to long and as a result it was a bit of chore to sit through as the film really didn't need to be that long in the slightest as the film could have been two hours long and nothing that's actually important to the films plot would have been cut from the film and yet for some reason the makers of this film chose to make this film close to three hours long when it really didn't need to be that long with alot of the films running time being spent on what are basically filler scenes that don;t really add nothing to either the films plot or the characters own individual characters arcs which does make all of those scenes feel pointless and boring for the most part but at the exact same time tho I will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this films action being shockingly really well done as Denis Villeneuve isn't really all that well known for directing action movies as he mostly does films that have no action in them or very little action in them and yet it's all the more shocking and surprising that he did pull of not one but to really good very action heavy films and yet still make them in his own style which is something that really does fit in well enough with this world as this world is basically Game Of Thrones but on the big screen and because of that and because of the science fiction setting the film can and does get away with lots of really good action scenes with the best one being the films third act action scene which is rather rightfully epic and really entertaining to watch in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

SPOILERS END HERE!!!!!!!!!!

Overall while this film is a really solid conclusion to the story it's also one that felt like it could have been so much better then what it was with the first film quite easily being the better of the two films and while this film is indeed a really good it's also one of the more weaker films that Denis Villeneuve has directed thus far in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com  and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being Google Images this is because all of the images that I got and that currently up , featured and on Google Images are all fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly high in definition.
