Bob Marley: One Love Film Review

It seems that we are getting alot more biographical pictures about musicians then ever before with them being just as popular as the box office then ever before. Well we have another new biopic out that's also based of off a musician with this film also crushing Madam Web at only the worldwide box office but also at the American box office as well and so then join me as I review the film that really does have a really big mouthful of a title with the film in question being called simply just "Bob Marley: One Love" enjoy.

The plot of this film is in 1976 singer Bob Marley decides to hold a peace concert in Jamaica in order to help to bring peace to a country that's divided. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but that's also the issue as the plot of the film isn't really all that good either as it does nothing that all good biopics should do instead just doing something that whilst it is new and different isn't really the reason as to why we go and see a biopic in the first place with the plot of the film being really rather entertaining and as well as really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Kingsley Ben-Adir as Bob Marley and No Time To Die star Lashana Lynch as Rita Marley. Also starring in this film is James Norton as Chris Blackwell , Tosin Cole as Tyrone Downie , Aston Barrett Jr. as Aston "Family Man" Barrett , Anthony Welsh as Don Taylor , Sevana as Judy Mowatt , Hector Lewis as Carlton Carly Barrett , Michael Gandolfini as Howard Bloom and Nadine Marshall as Cedella Malcolm.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films cast members turning in some truly wonderful performances which really is surprising as alot of this films cast members aren't really known for turning in good performances and yet here in this film that's exactly what they do and it does go to show you that if you have a director who knows what there doing then they will get a good performance out of there cast with the true standout performer of this film being Kingsley Ben-Adir who just simply was born to play Bob Marley as he just captures everything that he was known for so wonderfully but what lets the acting down by quite alot is the fact that this films script is just so bad that it gives this films cast absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters are even meant to be in the first place as that's just how bad this films script really well and truly is.

Like alot of biopics this film is most likely not that entirely historically accurate altho given that Bob Marley own wife is producing this movie that might not be the case. While this film does seem to be mostly historically accurate the film does skip some details like the fact that when he was in London in 1976 as well as creating the Exodus album which is something that we do see happen in this film we don't see him creating the Kaya album which was written around the time that he spent two years in London and as such it is something that should have been given at least a scene what also should have gotten some focus was the fact that Bob Marley did cheat on his wife ad bore five or six children with other women with one of those women even appearing in the film and yet the film doesn't give this any attention despite it being the perfect way to create some drama for this film.

For some strange reason this film chose to give itself a fairy long mouthful of a title which only serves to make the film sound like a sequel to another film. Compare this to the Freddy Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody has a solid title as it lets you know right away who this film is about without being a mouthful of a title to say which is something that this film could have had if it was just called One Love which is much more easier then Bob Marley: One Love on top of that is the fact that One Love is his most famous song and as such having a film about Bob Marley being named after song does somewhat make sense as it would have told you who this film is about right there in the title without actually saying by name who this film is about and it's a much more snappier title as well that also makes alot of sense interms of the films context.

This film does commit a big sin that all musical biopics should not ever commit and that's the fact that we don't get to find out how he came up with alot of his songs. Which is one of the reasons that his fans are going to be watching this film for as that is something that isn't that well known and yet the film just skips over that alot of the time ad at worst t just doesn't mention them at all which makes you wonder who this film is for as his fans aren't going to like as the film explains nothing about his life and the mainstream audience aren't going to like as it fails of being that good of a film yet if the film did take the time to make Bob Marley himself alot more of a fully developed character and took the time to show us how he created some his most well known songs then the film would be able to please alot more people as while the film does show us that Bob Marley was a violent person which was true to life they don't show us what made him like that and why he most likely wasn't like that later on his life all of which are things that would have gone along way to making the film alot more better then what it actually is.

Rather rightfully this film is crushing Madame Web at the box office which is something that even five years ago wouldn't be a thing. As even five years ago a superhero film even a mad to OK one would still be crushing all competition at the box office and yet due to the fact that alot of superhero films have been getting more and more worse over the years this film which is at best OK and cost alot less to make then Madame Web has not only made back it's entire production budget but it's on it's way to turning a profit whereas Madame Web will barely be able to break even given that it cost roughly one hundred millions dollars to make and has barely made fifty four point four million dollars at the box office where this film cost seventy million dollars to make and has already made eighty five point one million dollars this is a film that on paper should not be beating a superhero film let alone one that has a main Spider-Man side character as one of it's main character and yet really despite all of this films many flaws people are still turning out to go and see it.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty seven minuets and fifty eight seconds. Which is a solid running time given what portion of this man's life that this film is looking at but at the same time it would have been better if the film had a much more longer running time just so alot of it's characters can be more fully developed and with that longer running time the film would be able to give us more details about what Bob Marley's life was like both before the The One Love Peace Concert and after the concert as film could have taken us all the way until his death which would have made a logical ending point for the film as we'd get to see him at his height and then get to see him at his worst as well and while the Elvis film has the opposite problem of being to long as it gives information that we don't need to know this film feels to short and skips out on information that we should know but I will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a drama film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual drama that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual drama that's actually featured / resented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As this film does have some good drama which does come straight out of real life and how alot of this films characters acted in real life but at the same time the film misses out on so much good ways to create interesting drama for no reason like the fact that Bob Marley cheated on his wife in real life and yet even tho this film hint at it the film doesn't make a plot point which they could have done to create tension between Bob Marley and his wife or the fact that Bob spends alot of the time really ignoring the pleas of his home country fans which again could have been used to create some really good drama in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this is a solid film that is worth watching if your a die hard fan of Bob Marley and his music but at the same time tho there's nothing really all that new for either his fans or the mainstream audience in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i;v;e talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Queen fandom wiki page , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being Google Images this is because all of the images that I got for this review and that are still of course currently up and really are on the really great Google Images with them all being really fairly high in quality and as well as them all really being fairly high in definition.
