Winnie The Pooh 2011 Film Review
The bear of very little brain and his pals have delighted and in the case of their 2023 slasher horror film Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey have also terrified audiences for decades. However what people might not realise is that there last animated theatrically released feature length film was released all the way back in 2011 and well I wanted to talk about this charming this little film that doesn't get alot of love and attention and so then join me as I review the film that doesn't even have a feature length running time and really does even need it with the film in question being called simply just "Winnie The Pooh" enjoy.
The plot of this film is when he and his friends believe that Christopher Robin has been kidnapped Pooh , Piglet and Owl and all of the other characters in Hundred Acre Wood set out to capture the character and get their friend back once and for all. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty simple but not in a bad way as these characters just need simple stories and that's exactly what this films plot is it's simple but simple in all of the right ways in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is Jim Cummings as Winnie the Pooh and Tigger , Travis Oates as Piglet and Bud Luckey as Eeyore. Also starring in this film is Huell Howser as The Backson , Jack Boulter as Christopher Robin , Tom Kenny as Rabbit , co-songwriter Kristen Anderson-Lopez as Kanga , Wyatt Dean Hall as Roo , Craig Ferguson as Owl and Monty Python and Fawlty Towers star John Cleese as The Narrator.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films cast turning in some really good performances which shouldn't be all that surprising as alot of this films cast have been playing these characters for quite literally decades at this point and so they would of course no what kind of performance would fut their character in any given scene.
Doing the animation for this film is of course the legends and the greats that are currently over at Walt Disney Animation Studios. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this film mostly using 2D hand drawn animation which not only looks really good but holds up really well all of these years later with the same thing also being true for the films 3D CGI animation as well.
To say that this film is filled to the brim with childlike wonder would be a huge understatement as it's something that is all over this film. From the backgrounds to how the characters these are all things that a child would like and it's something that works really well with these characters as these characters are meant to be nothing more then stuffed toys that are being played with and so of course they would all have this over the top imagination and a certain childlike innocence to them as their owner is kid with a huge imagination as such giving all of these characters a huge childlike imagination makes alot of sense.
The one word that I would use to describe this film is charming as this film has a whole lot of charm to it. With everything about this film from it's extremely likable to characters to it's retro style animation and even it's rather simple storyline is just charming and it's something that really does put a smile on your face as it reminds of you of what it likes being a kid just playing with your favorite toys and that is something that we all need reminding of every so often and just seeing just how these characters interact with each other and how they reach to certain conclusions only serves to add to the overall charm of this film and it's characters.
This films features songs written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez who of course wrote the songs for both Frozen and Frozen 2. With the best song in this film being "The Tummy Song" which is just a fun little song and while not all of this films songs are great songs the ones that are are the ones that truly standout and a truly fun songs which does make sense as this song writing duo only seems to make good songs and so that makes all the bad songs in this film al the more bad as we know that they can write better songs and yet they for some strange reason chose not to do so in this film and while not every song can be a great song some songs should be OK which isn't really the case for this films bad songs.
Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and three minuets and three seconds. Which does make the shortest modern Disney animated film released thus far and to this films credit it doesn't really need to be any longer then that as it doesn't have that much plot to cover even one hour and thirty minuets and again this films credit it does make the most the running time that it does have and while I would have liked a much more longer running time that would have been stretching a thin story even thinner and this film does also have some really good pacing to it as well.
So now then as this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With alot of this films jokes being really funny jokes and while there are some pretty unfunny jokes in this film those are very few and really very far between with this film having alot more really funny jokes then it does really un-funny jokes in it in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Overall this film is of course alot better then Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey and is a good example of just how good these characters can be when they have the right creative team behind them in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 9 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Disney fandom wiki page , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very film being obviously Google Images since really alot of this films images that are really from this very film and that are all currently still up and of course still on the great Google Images and all of the images are all really fairly freaking high in picture quality and as well as them all really being really fairly freaking high in definition.
