Barbie Film SPOILER FILLED Film Review

 

Out of all of the films that are coming out this year the one film that I don't think anybody would've said will be one of the films to watch out over the summer is the film that i'm about to review for you all today. As like a lot of you i've been really looking forward to seeing this film as it just looked like a really fun and funny film and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the film that is going toe to toe with Oppenheimer with the film in question being called simply just "Barbie" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when Barbie starts behaving differently from all of the other Barbie's she goes to real world to solve all of her problems. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films plot being really entertaining and really refreshing and really engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is one of this films producers Margot Robbie as Barbie , Ryan Gosling as Ken and Kate McKinnon as Weird Barbie. Also starring in this film is Issa Rae as President Barbie , Hari Nef as Dr. Barbie , Alexandra Shipp as Writer Barbie , Emma Mackey as Physicist Barbie , Sharon Rooney as Lawyer Barbie , Ana Cruz Kayne as Judge Barbie , Dua Lipa as the Mermaid Barbies , Nicola Coughlan as Diplomat Barbie , Ritu Arya as Journalist Barbie , Marisa Abela as Princess Barbie , Kingsley Ben-Adir as Ken 1 , Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings star Simu Liu as Ken 2 , Scott Evans as Ken 3 , Ncuti Gatwa as Ken 4 , Rob Brydon as Sugar Daddy Ken , John Cena as Kenmaid , America Ferrera as Gloria , Ariana Greenblatt as Sasha , Rhea Perlman as Ruth Handler , Dame Helen Mirren as This Film Narrator , Michael Cera as Allan , Emerald Fennell as Midge and the great Will Ferrell as The CEO Of Mattel.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With all of this films various cast members turning in much better performances then what you'd expect from a Barbie movie which given who is starring in this film isn't all that surprising at all.

Doing the CGI for this film are the true legends and the true greats that are currently over at Framestore. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With Barbieland itself looking really good as alot of those scenes was shot in the same way that they shoot The Mandalorian.

Incase your wondering if the song "Barbie Girl" by Aqua plays at any point during this movie then prepared to be let down. As this song doesn't play at all during the film which is a shame because that would have made the film even more hilarious then what it already is but given that Mattel tried to sue Aqua over the song back in the nineties it might have been down to Mattel refusing to have the song be put into the movie as the bands manager even said that the band themselves haven't been contacted about using the song for the movie.

In recent days actress Amy Schumer said that she left the film because it wasn't feminist enough for her liking. Does she not understand Barbie because the Barbie brand is about as feminist as you can get with the character telling girls for decades that they can be whatever they want to be and yet somehow that's not feminist enough her I get it she was most likely feeling jealous that a movie that she was due to star in is getting all of this love and attention but she should have at the very least understood what the Barbie is about before trashing the movie.

For a move that bills itself as Barbie in the real world both Ken and Barbie don't spend a whole lot of time in the real world. Which is a shame because the scenes that they do have in the world are some very entertaining scenes and it just goes to show that you can get alot of really funny scenes just out of that one idea but they don't spend alot of them in the real world and instead go right back to Barbieland the very chance that they get which really does just seems like a waste of what could have been a really good idea.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and forty eight minuets and twenty one seconds. Which is about fifteen to twenty minuets longer then what you'd expect a live action Barbie film to have for it's running time and not really helping things is the fact that this film really doesn't have alot of plot or story to cover that large amount of running with a whole subplot involving a mother and daughter that goes nowhere and has no bearing on the plot of a whole and the whole Patriarchy part of the story just being dumb and not really needed in a film like this one but I will admit that this film really does infact have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then since this film is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this film having alot of really funny moments with alot of those funny going to the Weird Barbie character who is just so funny in this film and while yes Barbie and Ken do get some laughs it's Weird Barbie who get's the biggest laughs in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this movie isn't as good as I thought that it would be but it's still a really fun and funny movies that easily better then both The Flash and Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.
