Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny Film SPOILER FILLED Film Review
The Indiana Jones is one that I love as their are hings to love in every film even the bad ones as such when a new film was announced you can bet that I was super excited to see this latest adventure. With this installment also being billed as the last adventure for Indiana Jones you can bet that I was going to see this movie the very first chance that I got like I was already going to do anyway and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the film that sees our iconic adventure land in the late nineteen sixties with the film in question being called simply just "Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny" enjoy.
The plot of this film is Indiana Jones has to team up with his goddaughter to retrieve a dial that has unknown abilities. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this films plot being rather enjoyable and really engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones , Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Helena Shaw and Mads Mikkelsen as Jürgen Voller. Also starring in this film is Antonio Banderas as Renaldo , John Rhys-Davies as Sallah , Toby Jones as Basil Shaw , Boyd Holbrook as Klaber , Ethann Isidore as Teddy Kumar , Shaunette Renée Wilson as Mason , Olivier Richters as Hauke and Thomas Kretschmann as Colonel Weber.
Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With the actors that you expect a great performance from like Harrison Ford and Mads Mikkelsen really delivering performances wise but in this films younger cast members where the quality of the acting does take a dip in quality acting wise with both Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Ethann Isidore coming across as being some really very one note in their performances.
Doing the CGI for this film is Crafty Apes , Important Looking Pirates , Industrial Light & Magic , Midas VFX , Rising Sun Pictures , Soho VFX , The Yard VFX , capital T and fx3x. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that' actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with the deaging on Harrison Ford looking really good.
SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!
There was one big name that I left of the cast list when I was crediting the actors and actresses for this film and that is Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood. Which i'm in two minds about as on the one half it was great to see a continuation of the story of Indy and Marion from the previous film but on the other side of that is the fact that they just straight up copied their story from the previous film which just made their story all the more predictable and while they do reference why Mutt isn't in this movie which was done in a way that made sense it just came across as them trying the wipe the previous film out of the Indiana Jones canon.
I didn't think that it'd be possible to top the stupidity of having Aliens in this franchise but this film found something more stupid and that's the fact that time travel is now canon in the Indiana Jones universe. This was something that I hated as just like with them including aliens in the previous movie the fact that they included time travel is just something that doesn't fit in with the Indiana Jones franchise at all but I will admit that it does lead to a good scene with Indy telling Helena that he would use time travel to prevent Mutt from joining the Army by telling him that he'd die if he did join up with the army but one good scene isn't a reason to include time travel at all.
While the character of Helena does have some potential to be a good character in this film however I just didn't like her. This is because she came across as a character who is pretty annoying to be around with her being very cocky so much so that I was wanting her to be taken down a peg or two but alas that never happened and then when you add in the fact that she has next to personality and presented as being pretty flawless all of which serve to make her a character that Hollywood and Disney think is a strong female character but is instead a rather forgettable female character.
Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and twenty minuets and forty eight seconds. Which for any movie is a bit of a long time and that is doubly true for an Indiana Jones film where any of the previous films come in at just over two hours and yet for some reason this chose to be really long when it doesn't really need to be which is a shame because this film does have more then enough story their to cover that large amount of running time and this film does have some really good pacing to it as well.
So now then since this is an action film that means that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With the films best action scene being the auto rickshaw chase scene as that scene felt like and Indiana Jones action scene and was just pure fun to see in the film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.
SPOILERS END HERE!!!!!!!!!!
Overall this film isn't on the levels of both Raider Of The Lost Ark and Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade which does sadly make it one of the worst films in this truly iconic franchise in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Indiana Jones fandom wiki page , the official Disney fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very / particular / exact film being the official Disney fandom wiki page since alot of the images that are from this film and that are currently still indeed up on the official Disney fandom wiki page are all really fairly freaking high in quality and as well as all being really fairly freaking high in definition.
