Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Film Review

Star Wars fans with this franchise having not one , not two but three separate trilogies it would be understandable if you couldn't pick your favorite Star Wars films. That being said there is one film that alot of people say is not only the best Star Wars films but is also their personal favorite Star Wars film and so then join me as I review the film that introduces two iconic characters to the franchise with the film in question being called simply just "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" enjoy.

The plot of this film is after the Rebels are overpowered by the Empire Luke Skywalker begins Jedi training with Yoda while his friends are pursued across the galaxy by Darth Vader and bounty hunter Boba Fett. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films plot doing a very good of advancing the story of this trilogy whilst also advancing the films characters in a way that really feels natural and not forced in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker , Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia. Also starring in this film is Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian , Anthony Daniels as C-3PO , Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca , Kenny Baker as R2-D2 , Frank Oz as Yoda , Sir Alec Guinness as Obi-Wan Kenobi , James Earl Jones as The Voice Of Darth Vader , Temuera Morrison as The Voice Of Boba Fett and Ian McDiarmid as The Emperor.

Now then interms of what O personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films cast members turning in some really great performances which considering how is starring in this film that is something that's to be expected since pretty much all of this films cast members are some genuinely really good actors and actresses.

Doing the CGI for this film is of course the legends and the greats that are currently over at Industrial Light & Magic. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films CGI holding up really well forty years later.

As I said this film introduces us to two new iconic characters those of course being Lando Calrissian and Yoda. While these characters could have been treated alot better in this film since they don't really do all that much interms of advancing the plot they are characters that have alot of personality in them with Yoda being presented more like a mischievous child and Lando being written more like a stressed out adult who still has alot of shifts left to work with both characters really being well written as well as being well acted and interms of Yoda was also very well designed as well.

The one scene that I think that we can all agree hasn't aged all that well especially given what we later learn about these characters is the scene where Leia kisses Luke. While yes it was still quite clearly done to make Han jealous it is still a pretty awkward scene given that we later find out that Luke and Leia are brother and sister as such I wouldn't have blamed George Lucas if when he owned Star Wars and Lucasfilm that he then went in and removed since it doesn't add anything to the plot of the film and so I don't think that anybody would have missed it if it really was removed from the final cut of the film.

There's no way in heck that I can talk about this film and not talk about it's iconic plot reveal because this plot reveal is so iconic. Even people who don't like Star Wars know the fact that Darth Vader is Luke's father even if they get the actual quote wrong but besides that it's such a great reveal and it's great seeing just how this plot reveal has a knock on effect not only on the characters of Luke and Darth Vader but it also has on the character of Princess Leia as well with this very plot reveal being so well done that it's not hard to see why it became such an iconic plot reveal.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this films running time even was I do know for a fact that this film has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly two hours and seven minuets. Which is kind of the bog standerd running for the Star Wars original trilogy but at the same time since this film does gave so many plot lines going on it really should have been longer or alot of those plotlines should have been held of for either a Star Wars novel or Return Of The Jedi since all they do in this film is bog it's pacing down quite alot and make the film feel alot slower then what it actually is a key example of this is the Han and Leia romance which really isn't needed n this film at all and could have been removed from this film entirely and nothing of importance to this films plot would have been lost at all.

So now then since is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As we do get alot of really good looking action scenes in this film but with that being said the action scene between Luke and Vader at the end of the movie could have done with being just a tad bit shorter just to quicken the pace of the film and it could have done with being a bit faster as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is not only a good example of what Star Wars could be but it's also a good example of what Star Wars should be and what all good sequels should do in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Star Wars fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very / exact film being the official Star Wars fandom wiki page simply because most of the images that I found and that are currently up on the official Star Wars fandom wiki page are all shockingly high in freaking quality and as well as freaking being shockingly high in freaking definition.
