Thomas And The Magic Railroad Film Review

 

There are so few British icons out there even fewer that have manged to stay relevant yet there's one little steam engine that has manged to do exactly that. However even that little steam engine has made a few steps among the way including the film that i'm about to review for you all today and so then join me as I review the film that is as every bit as bad as you all remember it being with the film in question being called simply just "Thomas And The Magic Railroad" enjoy.

The plot of this film is one his magic gold dust starts to run a conductor and Thomas The Tank Engine have to find out how to get more of it before an evil diesel engine does. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / resented to us in this very film was in all honesty bad with this film having so many sub plots that it's hard to keep up with them all and the main plot is so thin that times it just straight up vanishes from the film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

Starring in this film is Alec Baldwin as Mr. Conductor , Peter Fonda as Burnett Stone and Mara Wilson as Lily Stone , Michael E. Rodgers as Mr. C. Junior , Cody McMains as Patch , Eddie Glen as Thomas , this films writer . director and producer Britt Allcroft as Lady , Neil Crone as Diesel 10 , Splatter , Gordon and A tumbleweed , Kevin Frank as Dodge , Henry , Bertie and Harold , Linda Ballantyne as Percy , Susan Roman as James , Colm Feore as Toby and Shelley-Elizabeth Skinner as Annie and Clarabel.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty pretty bad. With all of the actors either over acting as n the case of Peter Fonda or in the case of quite literally anybody else there all just underacting both of which make this film acting seem like it's really pretty bad.

This film basically Americanized Thomas The Tank Engine since British kids would have absolutely no idea what Shining Time Station even was. So the makers of this film have already alienated their core audience even more so when you take into account that American kids didn't like the live action segments of Shining Time Station but they did like the Thomas The Tank Engine segments and so what we were left if is a film that had characters that American kids didn't like and what British kids didn't even know about.

To say that this film had a troubled production would be a huge understatement since several characters were recast several times and a character was straight up removed from the film. With their even being a taxi driver once being cast as the voice of Thomas but was dropped because he sounded to old to be voicing the character and heck the character of Lily was originally meant to be shown as a grown up at the end of the film with it being revealed that it was her grown up self narrating the film but that's just the tip of the ice berg because the character of P.T. Boomer was the films original villain at least for the human characters but was dropped because he was to scary which is the very thing that a good villain should be.

It's important to note that all of these changes were demanded by the grown ups of the films target audience. Which is understandable but at the same time it's alot of those changes that resulted in this film being the huge mess that it is since it now leaves us with alot of scenes that go nowhere and characters magically transporting from one scene to the next and with character arcs happening at a rather unnatural pace all of this is a result of the film having makers to remove key scenes to appease the grown ups of the films target audience and if it seems like i'm a big angry it's because I do believe that there's a good film in here it but it just can't come out due to all of the changes that those parents demanded happen to the film. 

For some strange reason this film has note one but two nightmare sequences which don't really add anything to the actual plot of the film. Since all they do is hit home something that Mr. Conductor is already trying to do and that's get back to his home and so they just come across as rather pointless since they don't really tell us anything new about the characters there just for the sake of padding out the films running time and that's really it which for a film that has alot of subplots isn't something that needs to happen.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty five minuets and fifty four seconds. Which is kind of the running time that you'd expect a film like this one to have however with all of the edits that were made to the film it oddly makes the film feel alot shorter then what it actually is since alot of character arcs are nore forced to be rushed and alot of plot points now come at a rather unnatural pace all of which could have been fixed if this film was left well and truly alone.

So now then since this is a comedy that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad not because the jokes in this film are very kid friendly. However it's due to the fact that this films jokes are just straight up unfunny with this film not even getting a smile out of me and that's a very bad thing indeed in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is just as bad as you'd all heard that it was and while it's one that i'm glad to have finally seen it's also one that I can;t see kids liking at all since it is a very bad film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 3 out of 10 from me.
