Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Film Review

Star Wars fans to say that the Disney era of Star Wars has well and truly divided the fan base would be like saying The Phantom Menace is a bad movie. However there is one film that nearly everyone agrees is not only the best Disney era Star Wars film ever made but is also one of if not the best Star Wars prequel ever made and s then join me as I review the film that could now officially be seen as the series finale to Andor with the film in question being called simply just "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" enjoy.

The plot of this film is a group of young rebels have to find a way to get a message back to a rebel leader concerning a new weapon that the empire is working on. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this films plot being the best Disney era Star Wars film plot since it's a plot that'snot only very well told but is also very creative amongst really so many other things which this films plot good in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso , Diego Luna as Cassian Andor and Alan Tudyk as The Voice Of K-2SO. Also starring in this film is Donnie Yen as Chirrut Îmwe , Jiang Wen as Baze Malbus , Ben Mendelsohn as Director Orson Krennic , Guy Henry as Governor Tarkin , Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera , Riz Ahmed as Bodhi Rook , Mads Mikkelsen as Galen Erso , Jimmy Smits as Bail Organa , Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma and the great and legendary James Earl Jones as The Voice Of Darth Vader.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. Which considering who is directing and who is starring in this film really shouldn't come as that much of a surprise to absolutely anybody whatsoever since director Gareth Edwards really does know how to get a good performance out of his cast and this films cast is made up of a bunch of really talented actors and actresses.

Doing the CGI for this film is Industrial Light & Magic , Hybride Technologies , Jellyfish Pictures , Ghost VFX , Whiskytree , Atomic Fiction , Scanline VFX , Raynault VFX , Virtuos , BOT VFX and Mist VFX Studio. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good since even tho there are few bad looking CGI shots in this film the overall quality of the CGI in this film is really high.

There's no way in heck that  I could talk about this film and not talk about the horrible deep faking of both Carrie Fisher and Peter Cushing. Since yeah it's not aged all that well at all this is of course no ones fault since even now we are just scratching the service of what deepfake technology can do and so then when you take it back in time to when this film was being made of course it's going to look bad because the technology just wasn't there yet to make convincing looking faces but who knows maybe in ten years time deepfake technology will be used more often and alot more VFX artists will know how to use it properly.

What I really loved about this film is the fact that all of the main characters that we meet in this film all die. This to me at least added actual stakes to the film since now we the audience are left thinking that any of the characters can die at any moment and it made there mission as well as the opening of A New Hope all the more impact full since we now know what it cost to get those Death Star plans in the first place and that does nothing more then help out both films because of the fact that this film showed us what the stakes actually are.

For some strange reason this film chose to remove some pretty cool looking shots that were in the films trailer. Take for example the fact that we never got to see Jyn face of with a Tie Fighter is it stupid heck yes but at the same time it's also just a cool looking visual and we don't get to see Jyn dressed in all black on board what I think is meant to be an empiral base which could have been when she was trying to rescue her father since that's when it would have made the most logical sense and I sequence like showing the whole team trying and then failing to rescue Jyn's father would have shown us just how this team works when it's pushed up against the wall and it would have given the team some much more needed bonding moments as well.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and thirteen minuets and fifty seven seconds. Which if i'm being honest is a bit on the short side for a film where we the audience already know what the ending is going to be like and so having the film be as long as it is does nothing but prolong what we already know is coming and that just leaves us with watching a bunch of characters that lets be real we won't be bothering to form a connection with and that's al because of the fact that we already know how this film is going to end but tot his films credit tho it does have some rather good pacing to it.

So now then since this is a an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this film having some of the best looking action scenes in all of the Disney era Star Wars films since the action in this film really did make it feel like we were in the middle of war and that's a very good thing indeed and it helps that this films action was also really exciting to watch as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is quite easily the best Disney era Star Wars film since it was made by someone who is a true Star Wars fan and that love for the franchise is something that really does shine through in every single frame of this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the mages that I personally used in this very review from the official Star Wars fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very / exact film being the official Star Wars fandom wiki page simply because most of the images that I found and that are currently up on the official Star Wars fandom wiki page are all shockingly high in freaking quality and as well as freaking being shockingly high in freaking definition.
