The Sea Beast Film Review

 

Netflix fans Netflix has a very shall we say spotty record when it comes to their animated output with alot of their animated output being pretty bad but every now and then they do release something that's animated and really good. Well they've just released a brand new animated movie that's actually pretty good and so then join me as I review the film that lets face it alot of forgot was even a thing with the film in question being called simply just "The Sea Beast" enjoy.

The plot of this film is a young girl and her hero embark upon an epic quest to find and a kill a legendary sea monster once and for all. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this film plot being predictable yet entertaining and engaging at the exact same time in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Karl Urban as Jacob Holland and newcomer Zaris-Angel Hator as Maisie Brumble. Also starring in this film is Jared Harris as Captain Crow , Marianne Jean-Baptiste as Sarah Sharpe , Dan Stevens as Admiral Hornagold , Kathy Burke as Gwen Batterbie , Jim Carter as The King , Doon Mackichan as The Queen and The Voice Of Rey for many Star Wars products Helen Sadler as Ms. Merino , Matron and as a Cart Driver.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With alot of this films cast turning in some really goo performances and really becoming their respective characters in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Doing the animation for this film is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Sony Pictures Imageworks. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films animation being very visually stunning to look at in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

This film to me reminded me alot of the Love , Death And Robots episode "Bad Travelling" because the two do share some very similar shots and visuals. This isn't a bad thing since Bad Travelling was a very good episode of Love , Death And Robots but when your reminding me of something else it does make it hard for me to believe in this films world and to believe in this films characters and that is a fairly bad thing indeed in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Surely I cannot be the only one that forgot about this film even being a thing since this film only had one teaser and one full trailer. Which is a very sadly a common thread with all of Netflix's animated content which is such a shame because nine times out of ten their animated content is what people are coming to Netflix to watch and yet so little effort is put into marketing them with the opposite being true for their live action output which does mean that people are more then likely to forget that their animated content is even coming out in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

This film is really predictable since you can very easily work out where the film is going just from watching it's teaser trailer. This is a big issue because if you can work out where the film is going just from watching it's teaser trailer then your not really giving your audience an incentive to watch your film since why should they since they'll already know where the film is going in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then this film has / had an exact running time of exactly one hour and fifty nine minuets and twenty five seconds. Which is a very big issue since this film really doesn't have enough there interms of either plot or story to cover that running time and so then this film really should have been at the very least under one hour and thirty minuets long since that's all the running time that's needed to tell this films story in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then since this film does contain alot of action within it that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this films action being quite entertaining and at times quite freaking heart pounding as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film really does prove that Netflix can make some truly great animated content when they want to it's just a shame then that nine times out of ten Netflix doesn't really want to make actually great animated content in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.
