The Nan Movie Film Review

When it comes to comedic characters there are so few that takes Britain by storm but that's exactly what happend with the Nan character. As such it only about time that this character would get to star in her very own feature length film and well that film has just been released and i've finally jut gotten the chance to see it and so then join me as I review the film that has quite the production troubles with the film in question being called simply just "The Nan Movie" enjoy.

The plot of this movie is Nan is asked to go and visit her long estranged sister whom is dying and so she drags along her grandson Jamie on a road trip across England. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty OK at best which is a shame because on paper this plot does sound good but in reality it just falls apart at the seams in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is this films co-writer and producer Catherine Tate as Joanie Taylor and Mathew Horne as Jamie. Also starring in this film is Niky Wardley as Officer Mahler , Katherine Parkinson as Nell Taylor , Ruchika Jain as Nira , Bill Murphy as Officer Jonas , Tim Laubscher as Nutsack , Pete Bennett as Bradley , Parker Sawyers as Walter , Felix Scott as Arsemunch and Rebecca Trehearn as Peggy Roberts.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty the best thing about this film. Which really isn't saying that much since the acting that's in this film is at best OK but when you compare it to literally anything else that's in this film this films acting comes of looking great in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then incase you don't know the character of Nan started of as one of the many characters on the hugely successful TV show The Catherine Tate Show. This characters big selling point is that she is someone's Grandmother who swears and that's it but that was enough to make her a popular character for that TV show however it's not a big enough selling point for the movie tho since even tho a character like this is fine in a five minuet sketch but this character doesn't work for a ninety minuet movie in my freaking opinions anyways /  at least.

This film had such a troubled production since it was first announced in 2019 and was filmed in 2019 however it wasn't released in 2020. There was also supposedly two cuts of the film there's this version of the film and there's one where the focus is more on the films flashback sequences but sources differ on why the makers of this film chose to go this route with the film tho since some say that the studio wanted more scenes set in the modern day and some say and some say that it was the backers of the film and not the studio that wanted the more modern day setting scenes but either way it results in a huge mess of a film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

This film takes the Tank Girl film approach when it comes to bridging their scenes together since this films uses animation to bridge together some scenes that they just didn't film for whatever reason. This is however a huge issue with the film since the animation is just so badly done and is just so cheaply made that it makes the rest of the film look cheap and cheaply made by comparison and that's never ever going to be a good thing whatsoever in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

This is something that you won't know if you see this film or anything that's to do with this films marketing but this film does infact have a director and that directors name is Josie Rourke. For some unknown reason this director isn't listed as actually directing the film but is instead listed as one of this films many executive producers and trust me i've looked high and low for any reason as to why this director isn't credited as directing this film but there's pretty much nothing that actually gives you this answer which is such a shame because al of this films flash back sequences were really well directed in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty four minuets and forty three seconds. Which is the perfect amount of running time for this film to last simply because both plot wise and character wise there's nothing that's in this film that demands that this film have a much more longer running time and heck even with it's current running time this film is already stretching it's plotline to it's breaking point in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then since this film is a comedy film after all that means that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad. With pretty much all of this films jokes just falling flat and heck I didn't even laugh once in this film and that is never a good sign for a comedy film whatsoever in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is made purely for fans of the Nan character and as somebody whom has seen literally everything that this character has appeared in I can very safely say that this film isn't a good film at all in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 3 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Wikipedia and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this very / particular / exact film being obviously Google Images since alot of the images that are from this film and that are currently still indeed up on Google Images are all fairly freaking high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in definition.
