Rodan 1956 Film Review

Godzilla fans while i've covered alot of films in the Godzilla film and multi media franchise it's very rarely that I cover a movie that features one of Godzilla many foes. Well today that all changes as I cover the film that introduced the world to what is perhaps Godzilla's more lesser known foes and so join me as I review the film that is quite possibly the most boring film in the Godzilla canon with the film in question being called simply just "Rodan" enjoy.

The plot of this film is two creatures are burrowing through a mine which causes the mine to flood and so it's up to the miners and the Japanese government to kill the creatures before any more damage is done to human life. Now then in terms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot of this very freaking film in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot of this very freaking film was just uninspired since it doesn't really do anything that's all of that interesting or even new or even good for that matter in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Kenji Sahara as Shigeru Kawamura , Yumi Shirakawa as Kiyo and Akihiko Hirata as Dr. Kyuichiro Kashiwagi. Also starring in this film is Akio Kobori as Nishimura , Yoshifumi Tajima as Izeki , Minosuke Yamada as Oosaki , Ren Imaizumi as Ishikawa , Saburou Kadowaki as Minami , Kouji Uno as Journalist , Akio Kusama as Suda , Fumindo Matsuo as Hayama , Hideo Mihara as A Military Commander , Mitsuo Matsumoto as Professor Isokawa , Kiyoshi Takagi as Minakam , Rinsaku Ogata as Goro , Jirou Suzukawa as Yoshizou , Tateo Kawasaki as Tsunesan , Kanta Kisaragi as Suteyan , Ichirou Nakaya as Senkichi , Keiji Sakakida as Tahei , Hideo Mihara as An Air Self-Defense Force Commander , Yoshio Katsube as An Self-Defense Force Signaler , Mitsuo Tsuda as Takeuchi , Ichirou Chiba as The Chief Constable , Jirou Kumagai as Tashiro , Saeko Kuroiwa as A Nurse , Yasuko Nakata as A Female Honeymooner , Kiyoharu Oonaka as A Male Honeymooner , Kiyomi Ichinoya as Otami , Haruo Nakajima as Rodan and Meganulon and finally we have Katsumi Tezuka as Rodan and Meganulon.

Now then in terms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought that the acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film wad in all honesty really freaking good. It'd a just a shame then that the dubbing for this film wasn't that good because even I don't whom dubbed which actor or actress in what scene I can tell straight away that the dubbing acting for this film wasn't as good as the actual acting that's in this very film in my very freaking personal opinions anyways / at least.

So now then one of the things that I really found to be really freaking interesting about this film is the fact one of the dubbing actors for this film is none other then the Star Trek legend that is called simply just George Takei. I have to admit that I had no idea that he was even in this film and yeah I also have to admit that knowing that he's providing voices for this film does make me want to go back and re-watch the film again just so that I can hear his voice just because he has such a very freaking distinctive voice in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then this film really doesn't do a good job of building up what the character of Rodan is like he barely appears in the movie. Now then let us now then contrast with Godzilla whom just a few short years earlier made his big screen debut and he was built up really freaking well and is treated rather rightfully like threat which just isn't the case with Rodan in my freaking personal opinions anyways / at least.

So now then the way that the character of Rodan was created really does limit what they could have done with the character. This is since the character of Rodan is basically a puppet whom is on a string is really limiting because of the fact that there's only so much that you can do with that character otherwise you risk spoiling the fact that Rodan is basically a puppet on a string in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then I have to be honest here and say that in my opinions anyways / at least this film is the most boring film that's set in the Godzilla world. Simply because nothing of interest actually happens for the vast majority of the film and heck even Rodan himself doesn't appear until well over half way through the film and even then it takes us at the very least another twenty minuets until we get to some good old fashioned Kaiju destruction which by tat time it's far to freaking little and far to freaking late to be actually freaking entertaining in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then this film has / had a grand total running time of exactly one hour and twelve minuets and seventeen seconds. Which would be the perfect running time for this type film if it were not for the fact that i'm basing this review of off the American cut of the film which means that we get an over three minuet sequence of Americans testing nuclear missiles which is time that could or perhaps should have been spent on developing this films main cast of human characters and as such this film should have been at the very freaking least one hour and thirty minuets freaking long  in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then there is some action that's in this very film and that means that I have to actually talk about all of the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was at best OK. Just because like i've already said in this very review there's only so much that you can with this character given that this character is mainly flying and is thus basically just a puppet on a string but when Rodan does decide to land and to course some destruction and mayhem it is pretty freaking cool and good to see tho in my freaking personal opinions anyways / at least.

Overall I cannot stress this enough but this film is just so freaking boring and as such I can only recommend this film if you want to get put to sleep and get put to sleep freaking fast because that is what this film will do to you in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a freaking grand old freaking score of exactly a 5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very from the official Godzilla fandom wiki page and from the official Star Trek fandom wiki page. With my personally preferred website to use to get images this film being the official Godzilla fandom wiki page this is because all of the images that I got and that currently up / featured and on the official Godzilla fandom wiki page are all fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly freaking high in freaking definition.
