Vivo Film SPOILER FREE!!!!!!!!!! Review
Netflix fans the company has really been knocking it out of the park / killing it recently when it comes to there animated feature length films and well the company has just released a new feature length animated films and you just know that I was going to both watch and then review this movie. The very first chance that I had and so join me as I give you my SPOILER FREE review the newest film from both Sony Pictures Animation Entertainment , Netflix and Lin-Manuel Miranda with the film in question being called simply just "Vivo" enjoy.
The plot of this film is a kinkajou called Vivo decides to head to Florida in order to give a famous a singer a song from his best friend and that's all I can really do to summarize the plot of this film since saying literally anything else about the plot of this film would be a pretty big spoiler. As for what I thought about the plot of the film in all honesty I honestly thought that the plot of this film was alot more enjoyable then it really had any right to be since Sony Pictures Animation don't usually have good plots and yet for some rather odd reason this film not only has a good plot but the plot itself is at times both heartbreaking to watch playout and also entertaining to watch play out as well in my opinion anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is this films songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda as Vivo and Ynairaly Simo as Gabriela ‘Gabi’ Hernández. Also starring in this film is Zoe Saldana as Rosa Hernández , Juan de Marcos González as Andrés Hernández , Michael Rooker as Lutador , Brian Tyree Henry as Dancarino , Nicole Byer as Valentina , Katie Lowes as Becky , Lidya Jewett as Eva and Sarah and Gloria Estefan as Marta Sandoval.
Now then as for what I personally thought / felt about the acting that's featured / presented to us in this film in all honesty I honestly thought that the acting that's featured / presented to us in this very film was really freaking good. Heck i'd go as far to say that the acting that's in this film is alot better then it really had any right to be just because the set up /premise of this film doesn't allow for good or even great acting and yet every single actor that's starring / appearing in this film turns in a really good performance in this film in my opinion anyways / at least.
Doing the animation for this film is of course Sony Pictures Imageworks who have done the animation for pretty every single animated film that has been made and released by Sony Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation. Now then in terms of what I personally thought about the actual animation that's featured / presented to us in this very film /movie in all honesty I honestly really did love the animation that's featured / presented to us in this very film / movie since the animation that's in this film is so vibrant and full of energy and the animation really does come alive in all of this film's many , many , many , many ,many musical numbers.
Now then before you all think that i've gone batsh*t insane there is a reason as to why i've included the poster for UP. However I very sadly cannot say what that reason is as it's a huge spoiler for the film but I will say I didn't not see a certain moment in the film coming and that made the moment in question all the more upsetting but that just goes to show you how good the moment in question well and truly was in my opinion anyways / at least.
Now then please do correct me if i;;m wrong but this film is either the second or the third film to be released by Sony Pictures Animation that was released pretty much straight to Netflix since this film did get a very limited theatrical release last Friday on the 30th of July 2021. If I am right and this film is either the second or third film to be released pretty much straight to Netflix by Sony Pictures Animation then I have to say that this model is working out very well for them as it means that they can get instant feedback from people which is something that you don't really get when your releasing a film straight to / into theatres and while you still don't get that much of an instant feedback when your releasing a film straight to Netflix either but tho it's alot more instant these days then it is when you release a film straight to / into cinemas / theatres in my opinion anyways / at least.
There is no way in hell that I could do a review of this movie and not talk abut the songs that are featured / presented to us in this very film / movie. With the actual songs themselves being written by the star of this very film /movie the great and the legend that is known simply as Lin-Manuel Miranda who wrote all eleven of this films songs and sadly it's the songs that bring this film down a bit in my opinion anyways / at least. This is because the songs that are in this very film / movie all started to sound the exact same to me which is a shame because all eleven of this films songs are sung so freaking well / good.
Now then this film has a grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty nine minuets and fifty one seconds and well if i'm being well and truly honest here people this film does indeed suffer from it's incredibly short running time. This is simply because the film now doesn't have more then enough time to fully realize / develop it's characters or it's plot / story line and so the characters just comes as being weak and at best two dimensional and the storyline / plotline just comes across as being something that was as fully realized as it perhaps could or even should have been which is a shame because this film has more then enough story / plot there in order to cover that incredibly short running time in my opinion anyways / at least.
Now then as well as being a musical this film is also a comedy and that does infact mean that I have to actually talk about the actual jokes / comedy that's featured / presented to us in this very film / movie and well if i'm being well and truly very honest here people the jokes / comedy that are featured / presented to us in this film / movie are a very mixed bag of affairs for me personally. Since while there were indeed some jokes that worked and that got a genuine laugh out of me there are also alot more jokes that are featured / presented to us in this very film / movie that didn't get a laugh or even a chuckle out of me and for a film that's meant to be a comedy that's / that is a very bad thing indeed in my opinion anyways / at least.
Overall this film was alot better then what I honestly thought that it was going to be but with that being said releasing this film on the exact same day as The Suicide Squad is only going to massively hurt this film since this film was pretty poorly promoted by Netflix themselves. Now i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are featured / presented to us in this very film / movie in this very review and as such that means that this film gets a 7 out of 10 from me.
Now then as for where I got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Sony Pictures Animation fandom wiki page , the official Netflix fandom wiki page , the official PIXAR fandom wiki page , the official Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom wiki page , the official DC Extended Universe fandom wiki and from Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images that are actually from this film being Google Images this is simply because Google Images actually has a wide varitity of images that are from this film and all of the images that are currently up and on Google Images and are also from Google Images and that I personally used in this very review are all fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly high definition.
