Super Troopers 2 Review

Well the movie and if your even here fans of Broken Lizard this movie has been seventeen years in the making but finally the sequel that all three of you wanted is here and so here is my review of the groups only sequel Super Troopers 2.

The plot of the film is when a border dispute arises between the U.S. and Canada the Super Troopers are tasked with establishing a Highway Patrol station in the disputed area. In all honesty the plot of this movie is weak at best heck I had to look up the summery of the movie in order to have an idea of the plot because the movie just wasn't interested in telling me what the plot actually was.

Returning for this film is Jay Chandrasekhar , Paul Soter , Steve Lemme , Erik Stolhanske , Kevin Heffernan , Brian Cox , Marisa Coughlan and Lynda Carter and really the only new actors of note are Emmanuelle Chriqui , Tyler Labine , Will Sasso , Hayes MacArthur and Rob Lowe. 

Acting wise the film does hold up a little better since all of the actors are indeed trying but the sad thing is the script lets them down which is sad because alot of the actors also wrote the script so you would have thought that they would have put in a little bit more effort into the actual script but nope they don't at all.

I'll admit to you all right now I never saw the original movie either when it came out or in the years since and i have no inclination to do so and to be frank the first film doesn't look that good to me but tho with that said even I was excited to see this sequel.

What makes this sequel unique is the fact that it was crowdfunded on the site Indigogo but what makes this stand out is the fact that it's original $2 million dollar goal was reached in the first 26 hours and by the time the campaign had finished the film had raised a total of $4.7 million plus the group has raised $8 million more in private funding so in total the film had a budget of around $13.5 million.

Now I'll admit that some of the jokes in this film were pretty funny heck some of the cameos in this film are really good but tho the jokes come at the expense of the plot and that should never be the case the plot should always come first but the jokes that do work did get a laugh out of me.

Overall if your a fan of the original film then chances are you've already seen this movie like ten times but if your like me and you havn't even seen the original then this film won't make you want to go and see it it's a very flawed and yet at time entertaining film so it gets a 5 out of 10 from me.
